HELP HEAT OUR POOL The Rolfe Pool is in need of replacing the heater that has not been operating for several years. The Rolfe City Council has earmarked $5,000 to be used for a new heater for the pool; however, the cost of the heater is approximately $15,000. As the Rolfe Park and Rec Board, we are seeking donations from individuals and groups to help us raise the remaining amount before the 2011 opening. We have already received a $2,000 in pledges.
Why is this important to you? As a small community, we have limited amount of recreational activities for community members and guests to utilize. We have the golf course, the bike trail, the city parks, and the pool. As the Park and Rec Board, it is our responsibility and privilege to maintain all of these facilities. One of our goals is to keep our pool open and usable by all. In order to do that, we feel that we need to have an operating heater because we can’t count on the weather. Heated water makes it more enjoyable for all ages to use the pool throughout the summer!
Our goal is to have this money raised by March 1, 2011, so we have enough time to order and install the heater before the next season. If you have any questions, please contact Joni Ham at the Rolfe State Bank at 712-848-3480 or De Cooper Sindergard at 712-848-3224.
