Rolfe Regular Council Meeting

Monday, December 8, 2014

Rolfe Community Center, 6:30pm

 

Mayor Julie Lancaster called the meeting to order at 6:30pm Council present Al Kuchenreuther, Dan Allen, Carl Struve, Tom Andersen and Joe Ramaekers.  Ramaekers/Struve moved to approve the consent agenda including agenda, minutes and bills.  All ayes. Carried

Mayor would like councilmen to write an updated bio on themselves for the website.

Clerk will be on vacation December 22nd -26th.

Councilman Struve commented on vehicle parking and blocking alley. Mayor will send a reminder that they cannot block more than 10 feet of alley.  No citizen comments.  Mayor had one complaint form that has been addressed.

Ramaekers/Struve moved to approve the liquor license renewal for Wes’s Place.  All ayes. Carried.

Mayor read Ordinance No. 204 an Ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Rolfe, Iowa, by amending and/or  removing  sections of  chapters 21, 41, 55, 63,90, 92, 110, 135 and 136 for  the purposes of codification. Kuchenreuther/Andersen moved to approve the first reading of Ordinance No. 204.  Roll call vote.  All ayes. Carried.

Kuchenreuther/Ramaekers moved to approve the final pay request in the amount of $16,681.85 and certificate of substantial completion to Spay Com Utilities.  All ayes. Carried.

Kuchenreuther/Allen moved to approve the CDBG expenses; Spray Com Utilities – Construction services – Final payment – Total Cost - $16,681.85, CDBG - $16,671.00, City - $10.85, MIDAS – Administration through 11/30/2014 – Total Cost - $424.00, CDBG - $424.00, City – 0.00.  All ayes. Carried.

Dave Sandvig gave an update on the detention tank leak and quote on a new tank, still waiting on additional information.

Council decided to continue using the current racks for community center chairs.

Employees did not request closed session for annual reviews.  Discussion Kuchenreuther/Allen moved for no annual raise, due to insurance costs increasing and to review employee manual.  Ayes: Allen, Andersen and Kuchenreuther.  Nays: Struve and Ramaekers.  Motion Carried.

Kuchenreuther/Allen moved to close City Hall at Noon on Christmas Eve and all day the day after Christmas for the holiday and to use their own time.  All ayes. Carried.

Ramaekers/Andersen moved to adjourn at 7:57pm.  All ayes. Carried.
